To be eligible to compete in the Speak for Hire Speaker Speak Off Contest, an individual must:
- Be a registered ticket holder for the Speak for Hire Workshop.
- Be pre-registered for the Speak Off contest phase of the Speak for Hire Workshop. Each applicant must pay a fifty dollar ($50) application and processing fee. Absolutely no refunds for the Speak Off Contest and Speak for Hire Workshop will be issued. Any paid fees may be applied to any future Speak for Hire events.
- Have paid for entire Speak for Hire Workshop. Not restrictive to or in conjunction with the One-on-One with the Experts at the workshop series.
- Not have more than five years of experience as a professional speaker. A professional speaker is someone who is paid a fee of $1,000 or more for speaking. You do not have to be a professional speaker to enter the contest.
- Be filmed in process of speech development, delivery, and contest phases. By signing this agreement, you agree to be filmed and photographed during the contest and all phases of development. Speak Off participants must agree to have their names, photographs and videos used, without compensation, in any future promotional advertising in connection with Speak for Hire and the Speak Off TV Reality Pilot. The use of Speak for Hire or Speak Off is prohibited without the expressed written permission of DeLores Pressley Worldwide.
- Submit a video of a prepared speech to be reviewed for selection into the video why you would like to be a part of the Speak Off Contest. The videotaped speech must not exceed 3 minutes. Video must be submitted electronically to email: speakforhire@gmail.com via www.yousendit.com or via link to your You Tube video by April 30, 2009.
- All applicants will not participate in the Speak Off Contest. The Speak for Hire team will select up to seven (7) contestants from the video submissions to compete for the Speak Off Reality TV Show Pilot on May 30, 2009 in front of a panel of judges. The contestants will be notified on or before May 8, 2009.
